This event is a camping festival hosted in a huge open-air museum by an abandoned mining lake, set to some of the sickest sounds around. If dancing in front of a stage in a public park has become boring, and you think roughing it in the rain at a British festival is overrated, try Whole - queer raving Berlin-style. It promises to be bigger and better this year, with Sonique, Jimmy Somerville, Natasha Bedingfield and Atomic Kitten among the acts (in Brockwell Park, South London, if all goes to plan).Ī post shared by WHOLE | United Queer Festival on at 10:57am PDT So far, $1.3m has been donated to good causes.ĭubbed the “ultimate pop extravaganza,” last year’s Mighty Hoopla festival saw acts such as Chaka Khan and Samantha Mumba take to the stage. That makes the Washington DC-based celebration the longest-running non-profit dance music festival geared towards the LGTBQ community in America, with four days of fun and nine parties.

Expect many of them not to speak English.but this Little Havana, awesome!Į two birds with one stone, partying all week while raising money for the LGBTQ community - all the better to help your come-down feel mildly less traumatic. Beer prices tend to ranges from $2.00 to $3.00.usually, you will get a discount getting two.2 for $5.00 You will find that almost all restaurants, including fast food restaurants, will have their bathrooms closed. However, I discovered that Porty Potties are usually at the outer edges of each street corner. Here are some tips - bathrooms are not very obvious and at time frustrating to find. It will be crowded, busy, and at times a little crazy.but remember, once it gets too much just leave. don't worry and just try it, even if once. You will see it all.but just take it all in and enjoy. What I saw was an incredibly fun event.lots of people, of different backgrounds having a good time! Lots of great food, music, and just a great atmosphere overall. This speaks to safety.again, no problems. I did not see fights, there was plenty of police to keep order, and people overall were respectful. My wife, who I would consider a prissy, actually liked the event which greatly surprised me. If you do not like diversity.again, do not come! What you will see is people of lots of different cultures and colors.

People will throw their cups on the street and garbage bins overflow.but I am glad, because I see the vendors selling lots of food and the locals making an income. This is all about Hispanic culture and music.period!! Some music is more popular in one country then another. Yes, even countries that speak Spanish are different. Music varies.Latin music, of different genres of which there are many, you will hear it all. I say Hispanic, because my wife is Brazilian which is a completely different culture and music (Brazilian speak Portuguese, therefore are not Hispanics who speak Spanish). If you do not like Hispanic music, then do not come. Overall I was quite impresses in the scale and size of this event - it is huge. This was my first year at the Calle Ocho Music Festival.
